Every year the Serralves Foundation organizes the largest festival of artistic expression in Portugal, consecutive 40 hours nonstop and hundreds of events taking place simultaneously in the different spaces of the Foundation. Optimus Primavera Sound

Given the huge success of Porto Primavera Sound of 2012, which gathered in Porto City Park about 65,000 people from all corners of the world, Porto hosts the festival’s 2nd edition, with the support of Porto’s Municipality, through Porto Lazer. This Portuguese city is ideal to receive an event with the “Primavera Sound” seal, since it shares with Barcelona certain idiosyncratic traces, such as its location by the sea, the pleasant climate, its dimensions, its entrepreneurial character or its services’ offers. This edition will take place from the 30 May to the 1 June in the City Park, a big sized urban park, located close to the Atlantic coast and capable of receiving around 30,000 persons a day. Many artists have already booked their place on the stages of the Optimus Primavera Sound, which is increasingly becoming indispensible for those who enjoy good music.

6 times a year always on different dates, generally every other month, takes place the festival of contemporary art in Porto – the Miguel Bombarda Cultural Circuit. A day in which all art galleries from the Miguel Bombarda block simultaneously present new exhibitions and new collections. Along with the art galleries, on this day all the commercial projects remodel their space and/or present new products. In association with art galleries and shops, there are shows on the street, performances, DJ’s, concerts, cocktails, among other things. The Miguel Bombarda Cultural Circuit comprises the following streets: Rua Miguel Bombarda, Rua do Rosário, Rua do Breyner, Rua D. Manuel II and Rua Adolfo casais Monteiro. An excellent opportunity for the many inhabitants and visitors of the city to know the art exhibitions and to see the streets being invaded by art interventions, with original and creative performances.
